At Apple, I got paid to figure out where processes were breaking and how to make them better. Then my husband and I bought an RV park and figured out the magic combination that made it profitable — while learning firsthand what happens when the numbers, the people, and the day-to-day operations all collide in real life.
Now I do the same kind of work from inside bookkeeping.
I get close to the books, see where the friction is actually coming from, and start noticing the stuff underneath: repetitive admin, unclear processes, duct-taped workflows, and all the little things quietly eating time and money.
That's why I'm not just interested in keeping your books clean. I want to know exactly why that hot mess keeps showing up again and again — and exactly what needs to happen to make it stop.
A new app can't fix an unreconcilable account, a weird process nobody understands, or a workflow that only works because one person keeps the whole thing in their head.
Before I automate anything, I want to see how the work actually gets done, where it gets stuck, and what's creating the mess in the first place.
In trucking, getting paid means turning a pile of driver scale tickets into broker paperwork, invoices, and driver-pay math — every week, by hand, and wrong is expensive.
I got close enough to that to get sick of it, so I built a better way through. Paperwork that used to eat hours now takes minutes. That's the kind of thing I notice once I'm close to the work.
